At Gourmet Baklava, our journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to bring the authentic taste of mediterranean baklava and the enchanting flavors of Mediterranean desserts to India. I’ve always been captivated by the rich culinary heritage of these regions, the intricate layers of flaky pastry, the symphony of nuts and spices, and the delicate sweetness that dances on the palate
This endeavour was never merely about introducing a new dessert to the market. It was about creating a cultural bridge, a gateway to the heritage and craftsmanship that define Mediterranean confectionery. Baklava, in particular, is more than a dessert; it is a testament to centuries of tradition, a symbol of artistry passed down through generations. To truly capture its essence, we knew we needed to go beyond replication. We needed to embody the heart and soul of authentic baklava making to India.
To achieve this, We sought out the best talent, bringing on board Master Chef Mujahed from Jordan, a culinary maestro with years of experience perfecting the art of baklava. Chef Mujahed brings not only his exceptional skills but also an intimate understanding of the nuances of mediterranean desserts, ensuring that every piece of Gourmet Baklava is a true reflection of its authentic origins.
Our commitment to authenticity extended to every aspect of our operations. This meant investing in state-of-the-art machinery, imported directly from Turkey & Jordan, the very birthplace of baklava. These specialized tools, combined with Chef Mujahed’s artistry & his team, enable us to achieve the perfect balance of texture and flavour—a hallmark of exceptional baklava. We source the finest ingredients, ensuring that every pistachio, every walnut, meets our exacting standards. We believe that the quality of our ingredients is the foundation upon which we build the exquisite Flavors of Gourmet Baklava.
Over time, our passion for perfection has led us to expand our offerings, venturing into an array of exquisite delicacies, including exquisite milkcakes, gourmet chocolates, Maamoul cookies, and more. Each product is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation.
A milestone that fills us with immense pride is achieving India’s first FSSC 22000 certification in Mediterranean desserts manufacturing—a globally recognized benchmark for food safety and quality. This accomplishment places Gourmet Baklava among an elite group, as only the 8th company worldwide to receive this certification in Mediterranean desserts manufacturing. It is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence and our dedication to delivering products that meet the highest international standards.
Being the 1st to introduce authentic mediterranean baklava in India has been a journey of passion, perseverance, and purpose. It is a celebration of culinary artistry, a tribute to tradition, and an invitation to savour the sweet magic of Turkey and the Mediterranean.
